The wood board is a cheap particle board so you have to be careful not to screw into them too hard when putting it together or else it'll just ruin the thread completely. It doesn't matter much for the one-shelf version, but on the ones with multiple shelves, these boards will become unstable if the screws are screwed in too tight. Heat or moisture will warp it as well so take care. I have dealt with cheap particle board like this a lot. If you plan to move, be careful with the screws when disassembling and reassembling too much. The screws will lose their grip with time.
This rack is too difficult to repackage for return, so I'm just going to buy some washers, and I'll have to drill through the top of the shelf to secure it.
Packaged in awful styrofoam that crumbles and gets everywhere. All the parts were also coated in a nasty, fine, fibrous debris that almost looks like fiberglass and is a pain to clean off.
Construction is slightly less awful than expected for discount China merch. Parts all in good condition and fasteners of decent quality. One extra of each fastener is a nice touch. However, whole thing is a bit too lightweight and rickety, and won't sit level even after half an hour of careful adjustment. Uses cheap plastic stickers to cover screw holes. Wouldn't use this in any situation where it will need to be moved or require frequent use.
Hopefully this helps someone out🙌
As soon as I tried to attach the shelf board to the pipe as instructed, the board rolled off the pipe and the drill holes were demolished. I would have tried harder to affix it, but the board simply would not sit the way it should have. This will most likely live in my laundry room and the rack alone serves the purpose I need, so the board is not a deal breaker. Otherwise I would have been very disappointed.
